Learning, in itself, is such a complex activity. Input is evaluated, sorted and either stored or rejected and one often wonders what students really take with them in the end.
Learning at school is mostly about getting the curriculum done, passing tests and ensuring that you are ready for exams (and don't forget about Grade 12!). It is also true that learning happens in fun moments, sad moments and human moments.
Welcoming our Grade 8s to the College meant that we wanted them to be welcomed as humans first and then as students and collectors of marks and certificates.
Getting to know them each day is such a privilege and it is a joy to see how they are adapting to their teachers and the unique personalities of each subject.
This is going to be a great, fun-filled and exciting year. Can't wait to see what they get up to next.
