Grade Seven students from PEPPS Polokwane, Limpopo -South Africa were tasked to design components for a campaign to create awareness of the plight of our oceans. They were provided with graphics for logos, but the rest was all them!
Their tasks:
1. Write an Essay to create awareness of climate change - Platform: MS Word
Write an argumentative essay (their first try!) on the concept of global warming in which both arguments for and against were presented with data-based references. Their first attempt at using the Harvard method! (English writing skills)
2. Digi-Poster - Oceanic Acidification - Platform: PPT
Each member of the group designed his/her own poster and these were merged into a group powerpoint presentation. (Science: Acid, Base Indicator testing & English presentation skills)
3. Create the Earth's Voice - Platform: Sound manipulation applications
Each student had to create a unique sound that resembled the Earth's voice today. A number of sounds had to be layered and modified to create a unique sound.

Each group had to create a video to promote awareness for their topic. (English presentation skills Science content skills)
5. Tweet on the topic of environmentalism awareness
(only in writing as they are too young to tweet)
